Miglio New Season Launch

The launch of the new Precious Basics Collection for 2011 took place last week in Birmingham. A truly incredible weekend where the new designs were unveiled to all the Miglio consultants.

Once again, Jenny Miller has her finger on the pulse, with new versatile designs that are going to give your jewellery wardrobe a spring lift, whatever your budget.

My personal favourites are the new "Create Your Own" earrings, with a huge variety of drops to be added to a selection of french wires, enabling you to really mix and match the designs. I simply love the long pearl, leaf and tassle drops (E2036) and the simple crystal charms (E2035). I'll post pictures of them as soon as I have them, but you can see them on page 11 of the downloadable brochure.

Other designs that really stand out are N1182 our silk wrap with beads, which shows the versatility of Miglio's designs at its best. Mix and match the beads, wear it long or short and clip on additional enhancers to create a different look each time.

Autumn/Winter 2010 Style File

As with all things fashion, each year we see trends appear and when trying to accessorize it’s important to look at the clothing trends first as these are what you will be accessorizing with.

In terms of style this year most collections have fallen into one of two camps:
Minimalist i.e. I’m defined by myself and not what I own
Maybe the economy is helping to drive this trend where it’s not seen to be in good taste to shout about money. This trend involves classic tailoring with muted colours and clean lines. The Jewellery set to complement these looks is sheer understated elegance such as small pieces of one colour, perhaps with the odd pearl or black diamond. Vintage feminity is a key element to this look, where you can add a string of pearls, a flower design or use semi-precious stones for long lasting elegance.
Multi Mix i.e. futuristic fantasy
Think mismatched textures, colours and shapes. All the jewellery in this range will be big and bold with a lot of creativity. In this look statement layering will be key, and not just on the normal places where jewellery would be worn such as wrists and necks, think about adding it to handbags, belts, shoes – almost everywhere! Mixing metal, leather, lace, stones, tassels, plastic, vintage, sparkle, pearls, ribbons etc.

So now we know the two basic styles that are on the catwalk and in the high-street this year, what about key colours for the season.

Beige is on its way to being the biggest colour for Autumn/Winter 2010, which works really well with gold jewellery. If you want to get the most out of the heritage look why not add some champagne coloured pearls or crystals.

Blue is another key colour, so stones such as topaz, aquamarine and sapphire combined with silver will add impact to any outfit. If you feel that your complexion is too pale, why not mix the blue with brown or gold to warm it up.

Black is a classic colour, particularly adored by us Brits for the winter. As ever the LBD is a big season choice, but this year as an alternative to adding colour consider black diamonds, topaz or hematite to match the minimalistic look.

Remember though, if you choose to add colour then pick one that you like and find a fashion trend to follow, don’t be forced into a colour you really don’t feel comfortable with, just because it’s in the shops. Simple colour worn in jewellery can be a fantastic way of boosting your confidence and your mood.

Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. I'm sure you are all aware, October is the month in which many of us do our bit and get involved in raising funds for the various breast cancer care charities out there.

This month I'll be donated a 10% of all my sales to Breast Cancer Care Scotland, as well as hosting a few specific events in aid of the charity. My aim is to raise over £100 for them this month, so please help me to achieve that goal.

Add a splash of colour!

The nights are beginning to draw in again, and there is certainly a chill in the air now. I've finally given up and had to put my central heating on. At this time of year I also tend to move back into black after all the summer brights or pale pastel shades. It seems such an easy colour to wear, with black boots, shoes, handbags and other accessories so simple to get hold of.

Sometimes though I like to add a splash of colour, just to brighten up my outfit. I normally do this using my accessories, and this year have not been disappointed in the colours offered in the new Miglio Wild Rose collection. It's full of rich reds, which just look fantastic next to all my black tops. Whether you want to wear a simple silver enhancer on a bold red leather collar, or add a red enhancer to your silver chain, there really is something for everyone, and every budget.

One of my particular favourites is the new Homestead bracelet, which at £9.50 offers a really cost-conscious style update as well as supporting a great charity.

Don't Blow the Budget!

I know that there are a lot of people conserving their pennies at the moment as we are still in uncertain times. One of the things I have always loved about jewellery is that you can use it to update your outfits without spending a fortune.

With Miglio versatility is what sets it apart from other brands. The fact that you can mix and match enhancers with necklaces is fantastic. It makes it so easy to update your look with current trends or just opt for a new style for a while when you fancy a bit of a change. I personally love wearing the leather collar style necklaces, which are so affordable and so simple to wear.

I can create a romantic look by adding one of the long enhancers such as EN527. Priced at under £50 this is simply stunning and has a splash of colour that adds a finishing touch to your summer outfits.

A dramatic twist can be added by using a large bold enhancer. One of my personal favourites is the large gypsy rose EN598, which looks incredible on the metallic grey collar and adds a real WOW factor to your outfit.

When I want a more creative look I mix and match the turquoise collar, currently in our sale at only £9.00, with one of the antique bronze enhancers such as EN609. This gives a really unique look that can almost be passed off as vintage.

When I want a classic look my favourite combination is simply the black 5 strand leather collar and EN543, the best selling small crystal cross enhancer. A simple combination, that will provide timeless style to compliment any outfit.

For simplicity at its best I wear any of the five stranded collars on their own. I particularly love the metallic grey style N1086, as it seems to match with every outfit in my wardrobe. I don't even have to think about it when I pop it on.

So for affordable fashion fixes this year and a quick update for your wardrobe, think jewellery. The simplest way to give yourself a new look without blowing the budget!

Very Versastyle!

Since its launch in 2009 one necklace has had meteoric success at Miglio Designer Jewellery - N1001. The reason for this is simple, it is the most versatile necklace that Jenny Miller has ever designed. At £125.00 it offers affordable luxury due entirely to the fact that it can be worn in so many different ways. Based on pound per wear, you can't afford not to have this design in your jewellery collection.

I've taken some pictures (please excuse the amateur photography) to illustrate just how versatile this unique necklace can be. The first 2 shots show how it can be worn as a long necklace, at a length of one with the t-bar to the front, and the other with a simple, but beautiful heart enhancer attached to the bottom of the loop (the enhancer is optional).

As a twist on these looks, if you have a backless top or dress and you never know what necklace to wear with it - why not drape N1001 down your back (similar to Nicole Kidman in the Chanel Advert). You can clip an enhancer onto the bottom of the loop, or onto the front of the necklace to create interest there too.

One of the great things about N1001 is that as well as wearing it long, you can double it over to create various short styles - worn with or without enhancers.

In the shot above the t-bar and loop are worn to the back of the neck, leaving some of the Swarovski Crystal rings showing at the front. A classic and elegant way of wearing this necklace.

The t-bar and loop can also be worn to the front, creating yet another look, that can be worn with or without an enhancer. I've pictured it with one of Miglio's Clear Swarovski Crystal Heart enhancers, EN549 and matching crystal heart earrings E962.

The Swarovski Crystal studded rings can be pushed together at one side in an asymmetrical style that is bang on trend.

Alternatively, they can be split around either side of the t-bar and loop creating a more symmetric feel.

So there you have it - one necklace, but an incredible array of different looks, all equally as fabulous! Fantastic for holidays when you want to be able to pack light, yet still have different styles for each day and the perfect piece to ensure you sparkle all summer long.

World Cup Widows

I don't know what is happening in your home, but in mine I'm about to become a World Cup Widow! What does this mean for me - weeks where I'll be avoiding the lounge - for fear of being sat on after an energetic goal celebration - or the kitchen - because of the fridge being emptied out in favour of beer kegs!

I have made an agreement with my husband that he will have custody rights of the remote control for the next few weeks - allowing him to watch the World Cup in HD with full surround sound. I will keep myself busy with my work, looking after the children, and scurrying off to the bedroom to watch anything other than football!

Of course Father's Day also falls in the middle of the World Cup, so on this day as well as all of the above, he will also get bacon butties on demand, feet rubs and maid service from me for coffee, beer or whatever else he wants to drink on the day.

This may at first seem generous - but I have a plan!

We have a term called "brownie points" in our house - the better you are the more brownie points you have, its also possible to lose brownie points for bad behaviour. The great thing about these points is that you can cash them in for almost anything....and for me that is normally one key thing - BLING!

So roll on June and July and the football. I get some quality me time mixed with some great opportunities to get together with the girlies to watch great movies like Sex and the City, drink wine and drool over fabulous sparkly gems. It's win:win I think!

As you know I not only sell the stunning Miglio Designer Jewellery collection, I also encourage others looking for some extra cash or wanting to run their own business to do the same. I sponsor a strong team throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK and thought it would be a good idea to cover some of the Frequently Asked Question for those of you who are considering starting your own Jewellery business.

Q: How much does it cost to get started?
A: Currently you can simply sign up directly via myself, I can take all the details over the phone. It costs £90 + £5.00 p&p to join and comes with a voucher for £250 of jewellery, 10 brochures and all the business literature you need to get you started.

Q: How many parties do I have to hold?
A: We ask that in your first 3 months you have at least 2 parties, thereafter you decide. You can fit these parties and events around timings that suit you, daytime, evenings, mid-week or weekends.

Q: How much will I earn?
A: You earn a minimum of 25% on everything you sell, and there are no monthly or annual targets to be met to maintain this level. You can also grow your earning potential up to 40% if you meet certain targets.

Q: Do you have incentive schemes?
A: We have a fast-track scheme where you can earn up to £900 of free jewellery within your first few months as a Miglio consultant. We also run annual incentive trips that have included destinations such as South Africa, Barcelona and Istanbul.

Q: Can I sell online?
A: Yes, Miglio websites can be set up through the company at a nominal monthly charge.   You can purchase your own domain name if you wish to and it is easy to personalise them and track your online sales.

Q: How much do brochures cost?
A: We have 3 brochures per year, they cost £1.00 each. You can also purchase mini-brochures at £8.50 for 25.

Q: How much does delivery cost? How long will I wait for an order?
A: Delivery is charged at £5.00. Generally orders will be despatched same day if ordered in the morning so often arrive the next day.  We do ask for you to allow 72 hours, however, particularly at busy times of the year. This means that you don't have to maintain a high stock level.

Q: Is there an age limit?
A: Yes, you have to be at least 18.

Q: Can I sell to shops?
A: Unfortunately not, however you can promote your business through targeted customer evenings, events, fairs, gyms, offices and of course customer parties. We find that the best way to grow your business is through Party Plan.

Q: Do I have to reach a certain level to recruit?
A: Whilst there is no requirement to recruit, if you wish to, you can begin to grow your team immediately.

Istanbul

WOW!

What a fantastic time I have had over the past 4 days in Istanbul on an all expenses paid trip, thanks to Miglio Designer Jewellery. A group of 20 of us, including the Director's visited this stunning city as a reward for our sales over the past year.

We stayed at the friendliest hotel The Seven Hills in Sultanahmet - where the staff took care of our every need. From the champagne reception and delicious restaurants, to the breathtaking beauty of the Hagia Sophia and The Blue Mosque to the hustle and bustle of haggling at the Spice and Grand Bazaar - Istanbul is a vibrant and welcoming city. Our trip included a boat trip down the Bosphorus, guided tours of the local attractions and the best experience ever - a massage at the Hamam. A sanctuary in the centre of such a busy city and the perfect remedy for our tired feet and aching muscles.

The bazaar's in particular were an assault on our senses - with new sights, sounds and smells around every corner. We revelled in the opportunity to haggle for leather handbags, pashmina's, scarves, spices and teas. The search for our wooden spice pots - seen early on in the trip in a local restaurant - became an expedition as we wound our way through the cobbled streets in Sultanahmet. However perseverance won the day and we returned triumphant to the hotel clutching bags full of these gorgeous pots.

We all purchased some gorgeous authentic pieces, with one or two of us picking up some shimmering belly dancing hip belts, that came in very handy on our last night in the City. We were entertained at the fish restaurant we visited by Turkish musicians and belly-dancers who gyrated and twirled around us in the corner we occupied. Of course I would add a picture here.....however I was a little too enthusiastic in the dancing, and so never had my camera to hand. I'm certain that pictures of the night will emerge from my fellow colleagues.....all I can say is "I'm really very shy - it was the belly dancing belt that made me do it!"

The Oscars

Well what it night it was...Fabulous news that Kathryn Bigelow is the first female to win an award for Best Director.

Let's admit it though - we really want to talk about the fashion on the red-carpet.

The Oscar's are always sensational, and this year was no different. Similar to the Bafta's the emphasis was on statement earrings and cuffs, with very few necklaces in sight.

Having watched the Bafta's last night it was fantastic to see the jewellery trends emerging on the red carpet. My DH and I will no doubt celebrate on Sunday evening once the children have gone to bed - making a concerted effort to switch off all of our gadgetry in the evening. We've recently noticed that whilst our new iPhones are fantastic for keeping in touch and have revolutionised our work, they are a tad distracting. Last night whilst the children were staying over with Nana & Grandad we were both watching a great film, enjoying a bottle of chilled prosecco and tap, tap, tapping away on the phones! With all this social networking around there is no time to rest and relax - there's always someone to be catching up with, or an e-mail to send. Texting and calls are no longer the only interruption to a romantic evening! Bizarrely enough I have heard stories from friends of texting each other to get their wine glass refilled, or posting "get me a coffee please" on facebook when they are in the same room as their loved one.

I think my valentine's gift will be simple this year - I'll be switching my phone off until Monday morning and remembering all the fabulous things about my DH. Who says romance is dead!!!!

Well what a fantastic week it was last week. We had a record number of people join up to sell Miglio Designer Jewellery within our team. Everyone is taking advantage of the half price option to join which only lasts until the end of this month.

One of my more recent consultants joined us having just seen the brochure, so I arranged to meet up with her this weekend to show her the new Elements collection. Needless to say, although the brochure and website are fabulous - she was super-excited when she got the chance to actually play with the jewellery. N1001 was her favourite piece and unsurprisingly she has ordered this alongside her £250.00 worth of starter jewellery. When I showed her how easy it is to change this one design into 5 different looks she couldn't believe how affordable it is. The key trends coming out in the collection are cuffs in either highly polished silver or ethnic designs (as pictured above). These can be moulded to fit any wrist size and are everywhere at the moment.

Here's a picture of N1001 our best selling necklace from Miglio Designer Jewellery. The crystals on this necklace are simply stunning, and as you can see from this picture it is gorgeous when worn long with one of our enhancers clipped onto the bottom ring.

Well I think I am still trying to get the hang of this blogging so I have joined a new group called British Mummy Bloggers. Hopefully I will learn lots of fabulous things about how to blog successfully, but am also looking forward to meeting lots of new people too.

One of the things with being a self employed stay at home mum is that you forget how useful the office banter can be. It can de-stress you, make you laugh, make you cry and also just really focus your ideas. The internet is now strangely enough partly my office - so I hope to meet up with some great people.

I've had lots of people asking me what my current personal favourites are for the new collection. I seem to be going nuts for bracelets at the moment. I particularly love B945 which embraces the current seasons trend for romanticism and the gorgeous fleur de lis motif which is everywhere this winter. It also incorporates the trend for charm bracelets at a fraction of the cost of other high-street options.

Crisis of confidence

It can happen to the best of us. You are merrily heading onwards with your life and then a series of unrelated happenings start to rock your world, cloud your judgement and then cause an unexpected crisis of confidence.

Sometimes life gets us down, but I think that it is important to feel the bad times to make us appreciate the good times. We often have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and just keep going. I've just started a diary where I can note down all the good things in life, and all the things I'm grateful for. This has already started to make me feel generally more upbeat and I enjoy writing in it or reading it daily. What's really interesting is it's not about the tangible things I buy (although a nice new necklace does go a long way), but it's more about the things my 2 year old says to make me smile, or the fact that my 6 year old runs to mum for a hug when I pick him up from school.

So next week, I'm taking a bit of a break and heading off with the family for a few days. I'm really looking forward to the long walks, kicking dried leaves from the path, getting pink noses and cheeks and then heading home for hot chocolate with marshmallows in front of a roaring fire. It's a great time of year to really stop, look around and feel good.

It's still quite early in the morning and thanks to my DD I have now been awake for the vast majority of the night. Toddlers can be extraordinarily stubborn when trying to move them from cot to bed!!!!

Still, I am buzzing following the motivational talk I had last night at the Central Scotland Businesswomen Network. The guest speaker was a very vibrant lady called Liz, Liz Hoskin. She runs a business called positive qualities and did a very quick overview of how to get the most out of networking meetings. She also covered briefly the subject of psycho-geometrics, during which time I found out I'm a squiggle, with triangle tendancies!

What she said really rang true, we can work hard at school, study for a degree at university, but when we start off in the working world people just assume that networking is a natural talent. It isn't. It takes a long time to learn how to meet new people and make friends whilst offering a business opportunity. We also have an expectation that everyone out there is just like us, which they aren't! it's so interesting to meet new people and find out what things make them tick. As a squiggle I like an element of chaos in my life (which my husband will confirm) and am able to problem solve effectively.

The top tip of the event though was how to remember people's names when you first meet them, and that in order to do that we should learn how to introduce ourselves effectively first. The best way to do this is repetition, so "Hello, my name is Helen, Helen Gourley and I sell Miglio Designer Jewellery." There I've now taken my first steps towards really positive networking - it does feel a bit like attending a self-help group at the moment but I know that with practice it will become more natural and after all, I really want people to remember me and my name when the next networking opportunity presents itself.

I'm having a lovely time today. I have just sent a feature into our new local magazine "The Wire", which they absolutely loved. It is a summary of the style profile system that I use when running parties,that helps women to find their ideal sense of style. They are going to print it in the November edition using some pictures of the gorgeous Firenze Collection by Miglio Designer Jewellery to compliment the feature. We are also doing a quiz follow up in December to help readers determine which style or combination of styles they are.

I have been selecting signature jewellery for each style and sending off pictures of them to include in the feature. In general the 5 styles are Creative, Dramatic, Classic, Natural and Romantic. I'll cover more of these in future blogs and lets see if we can help you to work out which one you are.

as I was looking through my jewellery magazine that there are a lot of brands out there that are following similar themes to the season. Bling, as ever is big news for the party season and crystal and zirconia are great in jewellery to help you sparkle through the winter.

Ladies who Lunch

I've been quiet for a couple of days because I have been a very busy bee. Not least attending a most amazing Ladies who Lunch event in aid of Breast Cancer Care on Sunday. It was hosted by Stephen Jardine and took place in the luxurious backdrop of Gleneagles hotel.

My mum and I got dressed up to the nines and went out for a fabulous two course lunch with champagne and got to see a fantastic fashion show. The highlight for me was twofold, first meeting the guest speaker Dulce, who is very brave to stand up in front of all of us and talk about her experiences. Secondly, meeting Stephen Jardine and having a quick chat with him about his show "The Hour".

It was also rather brilliant to see "Miglio Jewellery" as one of the supporters of the event through our donation of some of the current season best sellers. It all goes to a really worthy cause and that's not the end of our support for this charity. I'll be hosting a Pink Friday event on the 9th and inviting my friends and customers round for some pink fizz and to look at the new seasons collection.

I have spent the last couple of days speaking to new people who are interested in joining Miglio. They have found us in a variety of ways, through the internet, through friends and through various publications including Red Magazine and Woman's Own.

I love it when I meet new people and they get involved. It's fascinating to see how many different ways my team use Miglio within their lives, either as full-time work or just part-time in between other responsibilities. The one thing that we all share is a genuine love and passion for the range. The collection is just incredibly stunning and we all really enjoy wearing it in oh so different ways.

Off to do another event tonight at Lumia Spa in Bridge of Allan (the owner is one of our team) and really looking forward to showing off the range to new people! Can't wait to show M the new collection too as she hasn't had the chance to see it yet, but I know she'll love it!

It's Officially Official

Yippee - I'm so excited! Tomorrow is the day that it becomes officially official that I am a Group Manager with Miglio Designer Jewellery. I am planning lots of big celebrations, including a pink themed event on Friday 9th October in Aid of Breast Cancer Care. I'll be thanking all my fabulous customers over the past 20 months and making sure that those who come along have a night to remember.

I'll also be a guest for a change at a ladies who lunch event in Gleneagles on Sunday. I'm taking my mum as a thank you for all her hard work on Friday and to celebrate her as my new secret weapon for future events! No doubt we will both be sporting Miglio Designer Jewellery, but as ever are spoiled for choice with which piece to go for.

I'm also busy with secret plans for the conference in January 2009 being held in Birmingham . Shhh, I can't say too much now but it is going to be completely amazing...

I have learnt at the recent event I did that I need to review how I display the jewellery. It has to look fabulous, but I also need to be able to carry the display materials around easily.

I've discovered boxesandbusts - a website that has a huge variety of different busts including collapsable ones - yippee! So I've been on and treated myself to a new selection in Ivory Leatherette - Gorgeous!

Can't wait for them to arrive and have fun playing with my display ready for my open evening in aid of Breast Cancer Care on Friday 9th October. hmmm now onto the important task of ordering pink wine and pink cupcakes too...lovely.

Today is an admin kind of day spent mainly ensuring that everyone's order is ready from the party last week to take over to the host. I haven't done this in a while as normally people buy the jewellery straight from the table, but as I had so many events last week everyone was really understanding and happy to wait a few days for their jewellery.

I know that there are some ladies eagerly awaiting their pink pouches full of fabulous designer jewellery. The most popular necklace by far over the past few days was N1015. Friday was so inspiring. My fabulous mum came along at the last minute to help support me as I exhibited the Miglio range at a charity lunch. I know she stepped out of her comfort zone to do it and she was absolutely amazing. We had a fabulous day and listened to some incredible stories. None more so than that of Ryan McLaughlin a determined 14 year old who wowed us all with his story. All I can say is thank goodness for waterproof mascara!

Self Employment!

Why oh why do I have to have a stinking cold in the busiest week of the month. I am currently dosed up with medication - including some medicinal Ardbeg 17 yr old Whisky! Having got through a party last night and an event at Gleneagles Hotel tonight I hope to last through Lunch in the City in aid of MS Society Scotland tomorrow.

Mind you.....the good thing about being self employed is that this afternoon, when all the kids were out at school and nursery, hubby was emboiled in some gadgetry in the office, I sneaked upstairs. To my sheer joy I was able to get a couple of hours peace and regenerate my batteries - that was until dad phoned (ta Dad!). Still, what other business allows you to take a much needed kip in the afternoon. Fantastic!! I love being self-employed and yes, I have to work through the cold, but boy oh boy being able to snooze away an afternoon is sheer luxury that can't be measured.

My darling son asked me today what my favourite time of day is. I thought long and hard and said..."I love when the house is dark and silent and everone is in bed. I then tiptoe into your and your sisters rooms to make sure you are warm and cosy and kiss you goodnight."
It made me smile and realise that no matter how tough the day or how hard we all work these moments are the important ones in life. Thank you my DS for making mummy smile.

New Technolgy

I have had a new technology day today. I am generally totally hopeless with new gadgetry but for some reason keep punishing myself by trying new things. My iPhone is now out of its wrapper and charging - but of course I'm more interested in buying a fabby pink cover off ebay than setting it up properly. Thank goodness for a technologically minded hubby.
A new thing that I'm trying out is a video promoting my business on youtube. This is all my own work and I hope you like it. Please do add comments and give me some feedback.
I've also been using technology today to come up with my team name for Miglio Designer Jewellery now that I'm about to be a Group Manager. After a lot of googling I've settled on "Venus". I think it sends out a very femine message without being too fluffy. So now instead of the Venus de Milo check out the Venus de Miglio!!!!

Ah well back to finding a lovely designer cover - maybe something a bit blingy or dramatic!!! hmmmm the choices!

This blog is in celebration of my new iPhone which is on it's way to me as I speak (so long as o2 have stock). I set myself a goal several months ago to become a Group Manager with Miglio and swore I wouldn't buy one until I achieved it. I even had to watch jealously as my husband's shiny new phone arrived when he decided to up-grade last month. What a green-eyed monster I was that day! Well it should be here tomorrow (fingers crossed) and I will be a very happy lady.

It's a pampering day today with my DD. We are off to get our haircuts and then I've promised her I'll do her nails. Need to book a manicure for myself so that my nails are in pristeen condition for all the parties and events I have coming up over the next week or so.

What a fabulous couple of days I've had. The mood around the house has been so lovely and I've really been enjoying opening all my parcels and getting another look at the gorgeous styles.

This pearl necklace N518 is definitely my show stopper for the season. I just love the shimmer of the silvery grey pearls and the swarovski detailing is to die for. It is clearly going to be popular as my first customer was a lady I met for lunch the day it arrived. I hadn't even had time to take it out of its protective wrapping before she had reached accross the table to claim it for herself. I know she will really enjoy wearing it and it will be perfect for all the prestigeous events she is going to be hosting this year.

Wednesday Wishes

What a strange day, I had a wish granted by a majik bunnie this morning in celebration of the 09/09/09 date and it came true in a matter of minutes. All I wished for was for the weather to stay dry long enough for the lawn to be cut for the last time before winter and low and behold it happened. These Majik Bunnies are myserious creatures, but very helpful.

I have since been sitting longing and willing my new fabulous jewellery and the co-ordinating catalogues to arrive, but to no avail...maybe I should have used my wish more wisely. It appears that my majik bunnies majik may not extend to the courier delivery driver who has for some inexplicable reason not arrived. Maybe a grumpy old troll is stopping him from getting through (according to my DD all problems relate to him).

I am absolutely shaking with excitement about getting my hands on some of the new collection and am having trouble deciding which pieces I want to wear first. I will also be donating a fabulous piece from the new Firenze collection to Gleneagles Hotel for their fantastic fashion lunch being held on 4th October in aid of Breast Cancer Care Scotland. This is one of the many worthy charities I try to support and hope that lots of money is raised by their lunch and silent auction.
All for now, let's hope bunnie wishes can be granted tomorrow so I can finally get my hands on the new lovely collection and brochures...fabulous.

Fast blog tonight as have a fantastically busy day. Took hubby shopping and spent a small fortune on pretzels... The food of choice in my home.

Had a fantastic night last night at the launch of the new collection. Stunning once again and of course bang on trend with fashion styles for the winter.

Extra special good news that miglio have asked me to become a group manager with them. Thanks go to extremely supportive hubby who gave me a glass of champers before I even got off the phone from head office. Maybe the broad grin on my face gave me away?!?!?

Is winter approaching?

How timely with the launch of the Miglio Winter collection today that there is a nip in the air. Certainly enough for my DS to notice and comment on the way to school "mummy, it's really not a good idea to stick your tongue to a frozen pole". ????? What words of wisdom from a 6 year old! No doubt his useful hints and tips will become a regular on this blog to ensure survival throughout the winter months!
Winter must be approaching though as I seem to have sorted out Christmas related things all weekend. I've bought a new christmas card stand from Next - which arrived this morning. I've booked our annual trip to Bo'ness Santa Steam Express and the Falkirk Wheel Santa's Grotto. I've arranged our Hogmannay outing to the local hotel and we've been buying presents early!
Still at least I'll be putting my christmas card stand to good use during the coming months as I'm going to be displaying my jewellery on it when I do parties and events. It's always difficult coming up with new and creative ideas for displays - so if there is anyone out there with a genius suggestion for Christmas displays please get in touch or add a comment here.

Long Lazy Sundays

We've now avoided a bunny slipper crisis with DD. Thought they were at nana's but now have realised she packed them in her bag so on feet and happy watching ooglies now. The trials and tribulates of a toddler. Have searched for bunny slippers as a result and have found an american website dedicated to them at http://www.bunnyslippers.com/

Ooh don't you just love long lazy Sunday's. Not much planned today, except visiting friends for Sunday lunch and taking the kids along for a play. I'll be driving, but I'm sure my friends will enjoy a nice glass of wine along with lunch. Just what Sunday's are all about....

Brighten up your winter wardrobe with Blue

Well today we have a new picture of me showing off some of the last of the Gypsy Rose Summer Collection for 2009. This blue heart has been a fabulous piece of jewellery and will no doubt be slipping into my personal collection very soon as Head Office have nearly run out of them.

I really love blue - it is a universal colour that suits absolutely everyone. It can really help to brighten up even the most severe outfit. Blue helps to represent the sky and the sea on a sunny day and can be really uplifting to our moods (particularly useful with the current weather in Scotland). It can be safe, classic and non-threatening, but I really love the rich vibrant blues and Teal (which is made up of equal parts yellow and blue).

I'm certain there will be some more blue designs in the Firenze collection launched next week. Will just need to head to the shops to make sure that my fashion matches my new jewellery!
